Not only are WWE fans bowing down to Heyman, but it’s said that those within WWE itself are recognizing his greatness. Backstage, a large contingency of performers on the roster and management have said that Heyman is delivering some of the best performances on the microphone that he’s ever done in his career.
He is reportedly getting along with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon these days, which wasn’t the case in the mid 2000s where he rocked the boat a bit when he had say in the creative direction as a part of the creative team. His current relationship with “The Authority” is said to be very professional.
Despite his lack of authority there, he is a very valued voice and many talents receive advice from him. There’s a general sentiment among young and lower card talent that they would love to work with Heyman, either as one of his clients or working a storyline opposite him to get a boost to their careers. His work and advice are that valued.
Ryback and Curtis Axel are poor examples of performers that got a good “rub” from Heyman. They failed to capitalize on their opportunity and ultimately the lack of success falls on the creative team pairing them up with Heyman in the first place. One would assume WWE is very selective with who they put under the managerial services of Heyman going forward. Cesaro seems like he is benefiting early on from Heyman’s tutelage.
Brock Lesnar, his main client, was booked weekly during the first year of his return, because he lost several pay-per-view bouts. WWE realizes that but are very happy with Heyman keeping Lesnar’s name up and keeping his strong image after he ended the Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak.
The feeling is that Heyman’s mic work makes Lesnar a huge draw and helps them with pay-per-view buys and WWE network subscribers because he creates a “big fight” feel attraction.
Lesnar is rumored to return close to SummerSlam, but he never really goes away because of Heyman’s signature line: “MY CLIENT BRRRRRROCK LESNAR CONQUERED THE STREAK!!!”
