The Denver Broncos shelled out a lot of money this offseason to bring in top defensive players but one of them has already found himself in some trouble. Despite only being with the Denver Broncos for about three months now, safety T.J. Ward had an arrest warrant issued for him earlier in May that cited an incident at a strip club.

While saying that an arrest warrant was issued for Ward is both attention grabbing and not at all incorrect, it turns out taht the whole situation may have been a bit blown out of proportion thanks to what Ward is calling a miscommunication between the police department and himself.
Ward talked about the arrest warrant being issued to the Denver Post and noted that while he’s embarrassed about what happened at the strip club, it was more or less blown out of proportion into a much bigger deal than it actually ended up being in the end.
"“Anytime there’s a negative situation about yourself, it’s a little embarrassing. But I think it was kind of blown out of proportion. It was basically a ticket or a summons, and it wasn’t supposed to be a warrant. There was miscommunication between the police department and myself, so that’s why they issued that. But that’s all being resolved.”"
It sounds like there was definitely something that went down at the strip club that caused for the police to be involved, in which Ward is better off being remorseful than embarrassed, but it does sound like the incident got blown out of proportion. With Aaron Hernandez being arraigned on Wednesday on murder chargers, we need to be careful how often we throw around ‘arrest warrant’ and the police department and players involved in incidents need to be better at clearing these things up.
What Ward did was apparently still against the law but it wasn’t as serious as it sounded.
