While the Major League standings are struggling for parity, their superstars aren’t as individual statistical feats are in abundant supply this season. Toronto Blue Jays ace Mark Buehrle is no different.

Just less than two months into the 2014 baseball season, Buehrle has become MLB’s first pitcher to reach nine wins, doing it in just 11 starts.

While that pace will be nearly impossible to keep up, if he does manage to maintain it he’d be at 28. That would be the most wins in baseball since 1968, when Denny McClain reached 31. No pitcher has passed 24 wins since Bob Welch of the Oakland A’s did in 1990.

Even if Buehrle is unable to keep the torrid pace, he’s well on his way to his first 20 win season in his 15-year career. That is somewhat unbelievable for a player approaching the 200-win mark. Buehrle could also become the fourth different Blue Jays pitcher to lead the National League in wins since their first World Series title in 1992.

The milestones don’t stop there, however.

The definition of consistency, the 35 year old Buehrle is also just one win away from ten which would put him at a ridiculous 14 consecutive seasons reaching at least ten wins. Eleven of those season came as a member of the Chicago White Sox, where Buehrle originally debuted as a reliever.

Buehrle is set to start again June 1 against the Kansas City Royals in Toronto.
