On Friday, they added commitment number 18 when they went down into Florida to get a pledge from 4-star wide receiver Deon Cain.
On Saturday, 3-star defensive end LaSamuel Davis became commitment number 19.
“Clemson was the team I always liked since I was a little kid. I wanted to be a part of what Clemson is,” Davis told Cory Fravel of Clemson247.
Davis has formed a bond with defensive ends coach Marion Hobby.
“Coach Hobby is a good man. We talk a lot about life and family. He drives me to be better. Our relationship is awesome. We have a good personal relationship. We talk about a lot of things I can do to be better,” said Davis.
The 6’4, 212-pound Davis is a local product from Bamberg, South Carolina and attends Ehrhardt High School. Davis is ranked as the country’s 54th-best weak side defensive end product, the 30th-best overall prospect in the state of South Carolina and the 1,310th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Davis was offered by the Tigers back in January and took an official visit to check out Death Valley and the Clemson campus back in April.
Davis has an impressive list of offers including the Arizona State Sun Devils, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Southern Cal Trojans and UCLA Bruins, among many others.
The commitment was no surprise – 100% of the 24/7 predictions called Clemson as his destination.
