The Regional portion of the 2014 college baseball tournament got underway on Friday, and it was definitely not short on some shocking moments to get the Road to Omaha started.

Early on in the day, the Florida State Seminoles, who were ranked in the top of the polls a few times this season, were upset in their opening game of the Tallahassee Regional by Georgia Southern in convincing fashion, 7-0. Now the ‘Noles will face Alabama, also losers on Friday, with both teams trying to stave off elimination.

Then, not to be outdone by their bitter rivals, the Florida Gators went out in the Gainesville Regional they were hosting and were upset by College of Charleston, 3-2.
