NBA Rumors: Detroit Pistons to hire Jeff Bower as general manager
By Josh Hill
The Detroit Pistons are trying to move forward into a new direction and out of the losing funk that has plagued the team for so long. Despite having a respectable roster in 2013 and the pieces to be a winner, the cursed Pistons came up with the eight worst record in the NBA this year and managed to lose out on a lottery pick thanks to the Cleveland Cavaliers winning the No. 1 pick.

But despite all of that, there is hope that the future is bright for the Pistons and that all started with the hiring of Stan Van Gundy as the team’s new head coach and president of basketball operations. But while the Pistons have a new man in charge, Van Gundy is looking to get some help in the front office and might have found it.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pistons are looking at hiring Jeff Bower as general manager and are in the final steps of finalizing a deal with him.
The Pistons need as many able hands on deck as possible to right this ship and it appears that Bower is one of the better options that Van Gundy was considering. He’s in charge of this team and he’s the one that everything is going to fall back onto if this experiment explodes in his face, so bringing in his own guy was crucial.
That’s what Van Gundy has done and Pistons fans are hoping this is the start of a franchise turnaround that restores Detroit to it’s glory days.
