Today marks the beginning of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft.  Whether in high school, junior college, or coming off a Division 1 College World Series berth, young baseball players across the country will have their dreams turn into reality.  With over 40 rounds of picks, and teams looking to stuff their farm teams with talent, the MLB draft serves as the first step in building towards a future.

More from MLB

With the MLB draft working much like every other draft, and the top teams consisting of those needing the most help, the Astros, Marlins, White Sox, Cubs, and Twins will be looking to make sure they don’t miss on their top picks.  With a very high school heavy top 5 projection, teams will have to make sure to groom their talent.  Look for the Twins to be the first team that doesn’t go with a pitcher.

In order to understand what kind of talent each team is going to be looking to snatch up, let’s first take a look at how the first round breaks down.
