MLB Draft 2014: Team by team rounds 4 through 40

The MLB Draft gets underway today, and following the first three rounds of the draft, the picking order will stay the same.  With the first three rounds featuring teams receiving competitive balance and supplemental picks, the final 37 rounds will consist of a rotating, consistent order.

As each franchise looks to bolster its farm system and build to the future, it is the late rounds of the draft that lend themselves towards finding the diamonds in the rough.  Many long-term veteran players are taken after the first handful of rounds are in the books.

Ted’s Takes: Through the concluding rounds in the MLB Draft, fans of the game really see the work that the scouting departments for their respective franchises have put in throughout the past year.  As players at the top of the draft are no sure they, they are more agreed upon.  The later rounds of the draft are about taking the guys that you think can work into your system and blossom into a strong MLB talent.
