Yasiel Puig’s hip injury was cause for concern but it isn’t anymore. The Dodgers have released their lineup for Monday night’s game against Cincinnati and Puig is in, slated to hit third and play right field per the usual. Puig came out of Saturday’s game vs. Colorado and was out of the lineup again on Sunday.

The news is not so good on Dee Gordon, who also came out of Saturday’s game and also missed Sunday’s game. Gordon is not in the lineup for Monday and must still be feeling the effects of his own hip injury. Veteran Chone Figgins will play second base in Gordon’s place.
Figgins is a decent backup but the Dodgers would really like to have Gordon and his base stealing prowess back in the lineup. At least they have Puig back, and all the things that come with Puig. The home runs, the bat flips, the base running lapses, the fielding gaffes, the dugout antics.
An extended Puig-less period would have been bad news for the Dodgers, so you know they’re very happy to have their Puig back. Puig stirs the drink in Los Angeles. Sometimes he stirs it too much, but that’s just how it is.
