The Miami Heat entered the third quarter of game three desperate for answers, as would any team that went into halftime down 21 points and licking their wounds. As they are prone to do, the San Antonio Spurs had played two quarters of darn near perfect basketball and put the Heat on their heels.

Looking to climb back into the game by all means necessary, the Heat incorporated one of their classic methodologies: flop, flop, flopping. Then again, if it works, who’s to argue?
Miami point guard Mario Chalmers might pull off an impressive accomplishment: he might pay a fine for flopping on a play where he actually got the call. For the play in question, Chalmers flopped like he was shot because Danny Green almost elbowed him in the face.
The interesting thing about these kinds of plays on the Heat is the fact that LeBron James is the leader of them all when it comes to flopping, embellishing, or whichever word you want to use for it. That is funny, because I’m not at all certain that any player in the NBA could knock James off his feet that way.
The Heat managed to make up some ground in the second half as they try to complete a dramatic comeback on their home floor. They will worry about that business first, and then Chalmers can check for a letter from the league about this flop.
