John Oliver who is the host of Last Week Tonight on HBO went off on FIFA during Sunday night’s episode, which airs at 11:00 p.m. eastern time, about the corruption of FIFA and when he appeared on Late Night with Seth Myers made a comparison to Walter White, the star of the critically-acclaimed drama that aired on AMC and played by Emmy award winner Bryan Cranston.
When Myers asked Oliver about his spot-on rant on FIFA and his excitement level for the World Cup he said, “FIFA is awful, but the product they push is amazing. They’re Walter White,” he says. “If you get hooked on their magnificent blue meth of a sport, then you want nothing else.”
Oliver didn’t stop there as he offered his thoughts on the fate of the U.S. team that will go without Landon Donovan, which he said there has never been a more German decision to leave off the roster, and wasn’t very optimistic about their chances, “I would prepare yourselves for winning zero out of three games,” Oliver advised fans of the USMNT.
But he wasn’t just picking on the Americans as he predicted the same fate for his English squad as well.
