Zimmerman was moved to left field when he came off of the disabled list to make room for Anthony Rendon at third base and Danny Espinosa at second base. He seems to be adapting quite well, thank you!
Zimmerman’s grab helped to preserve a 4-1 Nationals lead. Nationals starter Tanner Roark is pitched another very good game tonight. He went six plus innings, giving up seven hits and two runs while striking out four. Roark departed after allowing the first two batters to reach in the seventh inning.
Roark was relieved by Drew Storen, who allowed one of the inheirited runners to score.
Zimmerman also drove in a run in the first inning on a groundout. Adam LaRoche added a two run single in the first to give the Nats a 3-0 lead.
The Giants got on the board with an RBI triple by Brandon Crawford in the fourth inning.
Jayson Werth extended the lead to 4-1 on a solo home run in the fifth inning.
