Eight of the best teams left in college baseball will vie for the national championship in Omaha, Nebraska after a grueling tournament that started with 64 teams.
One of those teams that made it out and will have a shot at the title in Omaha is the Ole Miss Rebels, and here’s a look at how they were able to get to this point, from the regular season all the way through the Super Regional.
"The Rebels got off to a strong start, going 17-2 in preconference play, then went 19-11 in the SEC to capture the West Division crown. After a 1-2 showing in the SEC tournament, Ole Miss allowed just five runs during a 3-0 showing in the Oxford Regional, then went on the road and beat the top-ranked team in the nation in super regionals, dropping the series opener against Louisiana-Lafayette but rallying with two straight victories to reach Omaha for the first time since 1972."
The Rebels will start their College World Series journey by taking on the Virginia Cavaliers this weekend. How much of a chance do you give the Longhorns to walk away with the title from Omaha? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
