This part of the festivities is the loser’s bracket. On Saturday, both of these squads suffered some heart-wrenching losses, putting their title hopes in jeopardy.
Louisville has been one of the most consistent baseball programs over the past few years, but now their backs are against the wall in Omaha. The Cardinals were defeated by the Vanderbilt Commodores Saturday afternoon, 5-3, and are now facing a must-win situation in the double elimination format.
So are their opponents, the Longhorns, who almost thought they had a shot to get a win in the College World Series, that was until UC Irvine came back to get the 3-1 victory.
This is one of the most crucial times of the tournament, as one of these teams will not be in a good way when all is said and done.
Here’s how you can watch all the action live on Monday:
Date: June 16
Start Time: 3 PM ET
Location: Omaha, NE
