Shaquille O’Neal has been a lot of things in his life: NBA star, actor, spokesperson, sports host, now he can add disc jockey to his resume. According to a report from TMZ, the former NBA star has booked his first gig and will begin his new job at the Chateau Nightclub at the Paris Hotel and Casino starting on June 27th.

The new disc jockey has never had a real gig as a DJ but club owners believe that he will quickly find his way into the club goers hearts.

"Shaq will win over club-goers as he spins the hottest beats well into the late night hours.”"

O’Neal was a four time NBA Champion and a 15 time all-star during his career that spanned the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, L.A. Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Boston Celtics.  He was also a member of the U.S. Olympic “Dream Team”.

The NBA All-Star is said to be thrilled over his new opportunity and what a better place or worse place to try out a new venture. Fame aside, if he’s no good then the audience will laugh at him and not with him — not that Shaq will particularly care.

The art of dance music DJ’ing is a fine one that takes years to perfect. Can Shaq “scratch” the right blend of dance infused beats with the club rhythm? It’s not likely going to be a loaded club of Shaquille O’Neal fans but it is likely that his opening night will attract plenty of curious patrons to see how he does.
