The Charlotte Bobcats are changing their names to the Hornets. It was the name of the original Charlotte NBA franchise before moving to New Orleans, who eventually renamed the franchise the New Orleans Pelicans.

With a new name comes a new logo and new uniforms. On Thursday they revealed their new uniforms for the upcoming season. It features the familiar green they used to wear. It also has purple worked in on the two main uniforms, primarily in numbering and other smaller details.

“Like the overall brand identity, the uniforms were designed in collaboration with senior executives within the Hornets organization; Jordan Brand, a division of Nike; and the NBA’s Global Merchandising Group,” the Hornets said on their website. “Both Jordan Brand and Nike have a long history of working with professional teams and universities in developing brand identities and utilize some of the world’s most highly recognized designers.”

The alternate jersey is purple with the teal that serves as the accent color. It is an interesting contrast that might take some getting used to. Check the uniforms out below and let us know in the comments which ones you like, or what you think of them overall.
