Report: Carmelo Anthony hasn’t been returning Joakim Noah’s phone calls
Here’s a funny piece of information that will cause several to overreact. According to several sources, soon-to-be free agent Carmelo Anthony has NOT been returning the phone calls of Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah.
From New York Daily News:
"Carmelo Anthony has been getting quite a few recruiting calls from Joakim Noah over the past week, but according to people close to the Knicks star, he hasn’t returned one of them."
This could mean two things: 1) Carmelo Anthony isn’t yet interested in discussing his impending free agency, 2) Carmelo Anthony doesn’t want to draw close to the tampering line despite player-to-player conversation isn’t deemed illegal by the NBA, and finally 3) Carmelo Anthony doesn’t want to go to the Chicago Bulls.
Of those three reasons, only two seems plausible. The conversation is going to happen. It’s no secret the Anthony is interested in joining the Chicago Bulls. It’s likely just a matter of when for Anthony. By the end of June, Anthony will officially be an unrestricted free agent and he’ll be free to speak to whomever in regards to his next destination.
Besides, this wouldn’t be the first time Noah has courted Anthony. It was reported following the All-Star break that Noah made his sales pitch on Anthony regarding what they could do together on the Chicago Bulls, mentioning a championship in the convo.
In the rare chance that Anthony isn’t interested in the Bulls anymore, the Bulls will likely turn their heads to Kevin Love and present the Timberwolves will a flurry of assets in hopes to land the consensus best power forward in the NBA.
