36-year-old Chad Johnson is attempting to extend his football career by playing for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. On Friday, Johnson saw his first action in the second preseason game for Montreal, and made his short appearance count by catching his first pass of the year.

It wasn’t great and it wasn’t pretty, but it was a catch. And it was just about all the action Johnson would see on the evening. Montreal would end up getting rolled by Ottowa 26-10.
But at least the 18,000 fans in attendance got to see Chad Johnson catch a pass. From Troy Smith.
After the game, Smith talked about developing chemistry with Johnson and his other receivers (via The Globe and Mail).
"Hopefully the timing with the guys will get better. You’ve got to give Ottawa some credit. They played defence and came out with the win. It’s very premature. We’re embarking on something great. I can feel it in my bones. But you have to go through trials and tribulations."
Go to Canada football fans, and watch Chad Johnson catch passes from Troy Smith. They also have terrific maple syrup up there, I’m told, and the people are incredibly friendly.
