The Detroit Pistons expect to show improvement under new head coach and president Stan Van Gundy.

More from Detroit Pistons

That will likely start with finding a shooting guard.

Perry A. Farrell of The Detroit Free Press mentions the Miami Heats’ Dwyane Wade, the Indiana Pacers’ Lance Stephenson and the Boston Celtics’ Avery Bradley as players the Pistons could make a run at.

"Dwyane Wade is listed as the top free agent shooting guard. We saw in the NBA Finals that he’s not the same Wade that could carry a team single-handedly when the offense bogs down. The site said he has made $121 million plus over his illustrious career, but now there’s a lot of tread on the tires and he’s not the dominant player he once was.Lance Stephenson is listed at No. 2, and the Indiana Pacers guard is due for a big raise with the toughness, passion and blowing in LeBron James’ ear during the Eastern Conference finals. His temper can be a problem, but his 7.2 rebounds per game last year means he doesn’t mind mixing it up inside.Avery Bradley is probably the most interesting of the top five in terms of the Pistons. He’s listed at 6-foot-2 and he had a great season in Boston. He doesn’t mind playing at the defensive end, which can be a problem for the current Detroit guards. Averaged 14.9 points per game last season and is due for some nice money having made just $4.5 million in his career."

Wade went for 19.0 points, 4.7 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 54.5% from the field, 28.1% from three and 73.3% from the free throw line last season. Stephenson averaged 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game this season while shooting 49.1% from the field, 35.2% from beyond the arc and 71.1% from the free throw line. Bradley put up 14.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 43.8% form the field, 39.5% from beyond the arc and 80.4% from the free throw line.
