The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to move Steve Nash and they very much want to acquire Michael Carter-Williams, which has led to rumors that a swap could happen in the near future. The Philadelphia 76ers want to acquire another lottery pick and if they get the Lakers No. 7 pick, they’d own three of the top ten picks for Thursday.

According to Chad Ford of ESPN.com, the trade talks between the Lakers and Sixers that would swap Steve Nash and Michael Carter-Williams have taken place but aren’t gaining much traction.
There is still plenty of time for the Sixers and Lakers to work out a trade that can work, but there the clock is no doubt ticking. Thursday is loaded with a deadline for trades to happen as teams must pull the trigger on a trade before a certain time otherwise draft picks can’t be exchanged and controlled, only players drafted can then be swapped.
That’s not a situation that would stop a Steve Nash for Michael Carter-Williams trade though, as Los Angeles can still select on Philadelphia’s behalf and then pull the trigger on a deal. Thaddeus Young is reportedly supposed to be part of the deal but with no traction being gained it’s hard to gauge just how deep talks will get between now and the pre-draft trade deadline.
