David Price faces an uncertain future. In the coming weeks, perhaps even the coming days, he might find himself traded to a new team. And if you ask Price about it, well, he doesn’t like it one bit.

Price explained that he has been in a bad mood lately because of all of the trade rumors surrounding him and the Rays. As quoted by MLB.com:
"“I mean, obviously I think about it,” Price said. “That’s why I’ve been in a bad mood the last week and a half. I think about it. You guys know that. And it’s nothing I really want to talk about. I don’t have an answer for you guys. I don’t know where I’m going. I don’t know when I’m going. So there’s nothing I can really comment on.”"
It is understandable that Price is uncomfortable with the situation. Furthermore, he has expressed his affection for Tampa Bay and the Rays’ franchise, so he might not be entirely interested in dealing with these rumblings. On that front, his grumpiness is understandable.
Having said that, Price needs to remember a couple things. For one, this trade will likely land him on a contender, giving him the chance to pitch in another playoff race. More importantly, this deal is going to get him paid one of the largest salaries among starting pitchers in all of baseball. This trade is all but mandatory for the Rays, honestly, because they cannot pay Price.
So maybe feel a little bad for Price. Just not that bad. I bet that new contract will put him in a better mood.
