The Boston Celtics have the No. 6 overall pick in the draft as well as the No. 17 overall pick but they aren’t looking to keep both picks without first seeing if they can flip them first for assets they can use right away.

But after shopping their picks and apparently calling the teams ahead of them in the draft order, the Celtics are now content in keeping the pick and just letting the chips fall where they may.
One thing the Celtics might like to count on happening is having hobbled big man and former potential No. 1 overall pick Joel Embiid fall to them at No. 6 overall. There’s a good chance he might even be there at No. 17 overall but should the Kansas big man fall then the Celtics might pounce on him the first chance they get.
That’s all speculation, as there’s no saying who else will or will not be available but the Celtics are looking at keeping their two first round picks and will wait to see what happens on draft night when it comes to how they end up using them.
