The biggest story in the NBA this week went from being about the NBA Draft to about LeBron James opting out of his deal with the Miami Heat to test free agency for the second time in his career.

More from Los Angeles Clippers

Now that LeBron is ready to put himself up for sale to the rest of the NBA< the list of teams willing to make a run at him seems to be growing by the minute with the power rankings changing at a rapid pace. One team is the Los Angeles Clippers but their run at the best player on the planet likely won't go like we've been hearing about. According to Ramona Shelburne from ESPN.com, the Clippers are indeed expected to make a run at signing LeBron but will not be using Blake Griffin as a bartering chip.

It was earlier reported that the Clippers would be using Griffin in sign-and-trade talks with the Miami Heat, but it appears that they’re not that interested in trading him after all, even if it means landing LeBron a lot easier than it otherwise will be.

Griffin is a guy the Clippers very much need and forming a new Big 3 of Chris Paul, LeBron and Blake Griffin is something the the Clippers can use to totally re-brand themselves moving forward.
