NBA Rumors: Kings, Pistons discussing Josh Smith trade
By Josh Hill
The NBA Draft is just around the corner and the teams picking in the lottery are doing their final sales pitch on the open market to see if anyone wants to buy the snake oil their selling. Lottery picks can either turn out great or turn into disasters and the Sacramento Kings are trying to get out of that situation by trading the No. 8 overall pick.

According to ESPN.com’s Marc Stein, while nothing is at all imminent, the Kings and Pistons have been discussing a trade that would send Josh Smith to Sacramento and assets still unknown back to the Motor City.
Of course, nothing is imminent at the moment which means all of this could fall part as quickly as it seems to have come together, but the bottom line is that the Pistons want to make sure their roster is in check for the beginning of the season.
Smith was a problem on the floor last year as his shooting was less than spectacular and he never really filled into to role he was supposed to the way fans hoped he might.
Trading Smith might be what’s best for the Pistons and the Kings, as he was shopped at the deadline back in February and now might be hte right time to move on and possibly get a draft pick to replace him with in a trade.
