Thursday night, Carlos Pena said hello the fans in Texas by crushing a home run ball to right field. The ball took one bounce off a wall and landed right in a tray of beef brisket.

Because nothing says “I have arrived in Texas to provide pop from the left side of the plate” like ruining a whole tray of beef brisket. Seriously, that tray of brisket was ruined. Please tell me they threw it out after the baseball landed in it. Or at least sold it for half price.

In the video clip, a man proudly displays the baseball with the smear of beef brisket on it. That brisket smear will help prove the ball’s authenticity when he places it on eBay. He should be able to get a good five dollars for that authentic Carlos Pena beef brisket home run ball.

Meanwhile, Carlos Pena is back in the major leagues. Pena can still hit a tape measure home run but if he remains true to form, he won’t slug enough of them to hide the fact that he is a terrible hitter, especially against left handers.
