The San Antonio Spurs won their fifth NBA Championship earlier this month in large part because of their prowess on draft night, and with the last pick in the NBA Draft, the Spurs are hoping they can find gold at the bottom of the draft as they did previously with Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.

With Tim Duncan and Gregg Popovich returning for at least one more season and a chance at back-to-back titles the Spurs were in position to take the best player available with no large needs and a blossoming young talent in Kawhi Leonard to complement the aforementioned Hall of Fame trio.
With the 30th and final pick in the first round, the Spurs drafted UCLA Bruins Swiss army knife Kyle Anderson who was excellent value this late int he first round.
The 6-9 Anderson was the No. 2 player available on Jay Bilasā big board but some teams are hesitant about which position the Bruins point guard will play in the NBA. Something tells me Popovich will have no issue finding a spot for him in the rotation this season.
Looks like the Spurs found another gem late in the draft.
