Jason Kidd reuniting with the Brooklyn Nets was not supposed to go like this.

Kidd once help turned the Nets into the best team in the Eastern Conference as their star point guard. When Kidd retired from the NBA last year, the Nets asked him to do the same as their head coach. Kidd got off to a rough start, but rebounded to get into the postseason. The Nets then defeated the Toronto Raptors, winning a road game 7 before bowing out to the Miami Heat.
Kidd, however, has been asking for a bigger roll, much like the power Stan Van Gundy just received from the Detroit Pistons. That is something the Nets do not want to give Kidd, but it does appear to be something the Milwaukee Bucks are willing to offer. That means Kidd will likely soon be on his way out of Brooklyn.
According to Mitch Lawrence of The New York Daily News, the Nets are better off without Kidd.
"Now, he’s shown his worst side again, apparently dabbling with a team while he’s still under contract to the Nets, with three more years at another $7.5 million. That’s a pretty good contract for a rookie. But guess what? The great Jason Kidd, who led the Nets to all of five playoff wins in his first coaching job, couldn’t get over the fact that Steve Kerr and Derek Fisher had just signed deals that put his to shame. Both stand to make $25 million, more than doubling Kidd’s “meager’’ $10.5 million that Mikhail Prokhorov threw at him, despite Kidd not having any experience at his new occupation. The word came out that Kidd tried to jump over King and become the team president. We’re not surprised, not at all. That’s how he rolls."
Several reports have indicated the Bucks have already offered Kidd a job.
The Nets are reportedly interested in Lionel Hollins, Mark Jackson and George Karl, among others, to replace Kidd.
