There has been a lot of talk around the future of the Sacramento Kings’ key free agents, forward Rudy Gay and point guard Isaiah Thomas.

Now that Gay has officially opted into the final year of his contract that will pay him $19.3 million, all of the focus will turn to Thomas.
The Kings would love to retain Thomas and one report indicated they will match any offer to keep him, they may be open to losing Thomas, perhaps in a sign-and-trade.
According to Aaron Bruski of NBC Sports, the Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns are all after Thomas.
League sources tell PBT that Isaiah Thomas is drawing interest from the Pistons, Mavs, Lakers, Heat and Suns.

Bruski reports the Pistons are the most interested in Thomas while Vincent Goodwill of The Detroit News heard about the Pistons interest when reports of the Kings potentially trading for Pistons’ forward Josh Smith came to the forefront.
Pistons have showed the most interest so far, talks have started in the 3/24M range. Other talks ranging from $6-7M per year.

Thomas averaged 20.3 points, 6.3 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game last season while shooting 45.3% from the field, 34.9% from beyond the arc and 85.0% from the free throw line. Smith put up 16.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 41.9% from the field, 26.4% from three and 53.2% from the charity stripe.
