2. The Suns Would Be Instant Title Contenders…

Again, who the hell is guarding a starting lineup with the Dragon, Bledsoe, LeBron and Melo? Almost any team LeBron joins this summer will become a title contender overnight, but joining the Suns would launch Phoenix, a franchise hungry for its first title, into the conversation of favorites in the West. Miami’s accomplishment of four straight Finals trips is remarkable, but we also can’t ignore their path there was significantly easier than the road through the West each year.

Taking his talents to the Southwest would solidify LeBron’s knack for turning teams into contenders overnight, a testament to his skills. It would silence the haters who knock the Heat for coming out of the East and it would turn the West into one of the most memorable battlegrounds it’s ever been. Maybe LeBron and Melo leaving the East would hurt the league’s parity, but try and tell me the Western Conference playoffs wouldn’t more than make up for it.

Dragic just won the NBA’s Most Improved Player of the Year Award and was Third Team All-NBA. Bledsoe might have been an All-Star were it not for his knee injury. LeBron is LeBron and Melo can score in bunches as a stretch-4. Dragic, Bledsoe and LeBron would form one of the league’s premier defensive backcourts and the Suns wouldn’t have to completely gut their roster to make this happen.

LeBron is occupied with where he’ll stand in NBA history and he knows he needs to win a few more rings before LeBron vs. Michael Jordan is a legitimate argument. After falling short with the Heat last year, it was painfully obvious that Dwyane Wade’s best days are behind him. Signing with the Suns would not only move him closer to his next championship, but it’d move him there this season.
