NBA Rumors: Derrick Rose expects to be ready for Bulls season opener
By Josh Hill
The Chicago Bulls are hoping that this season is finally the year that they get over the hump and can get to the NBA Finals for the first time since Micheal Jordan was playing for them back in the late 1990s. A lot of work needs to be done but while the team is trying to get a top free agent they’re also trying to get back their star player.

Unlike other teams who are trying to contractually bring back their star, the Bulls just want to make sure former MVP Derrick Rose can stand on two legs under his own power, which it seems he might finally be able to do.
Rose spoke with Yahoo! Sports insider Marc J. Spears and said that while he’s still trying to understand where his body is at in terms of recovering, he expects top be there and int he lineup for the Bulls season opener in the fall.
"As for when Rose will resume playing, he told Yahoo Sports he expects to be ready for the 2014-15 NBA season-opener, but has yet to decide if he will try out for USA Basketball’s World Cup team this summer."
This is great news for Bulls fans hoping to finally see Rose back out on the court and leading the Bulls. He fell off the face of the earth it seems as his knees just can’t hold out for him and he missed basically two entire seasons for Chicago. Rose sat out the entire 2012-13 season following an ACL tear in his knee during the 2012 playoffs and he played only a handful of games this past season before hurting his knee again.
That’s why it’s hard to be excited about Rose being back as saying he’s going to return but actually staying healthy are two very different things when it comes to the Chicago Bulls’ star.
