On Monday morning, the rumored deal between the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets for head coach Jason Kidd was finally completed.

More from Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn got a 2015 and 2019 second-round picks in exchange for Kidd, but now they must begin their search for a replacement.

While the Kidd to Milwaukee news seemingly came out of nowhere, it would appear that the Nets were prepared for Kidd to leave Brooklyn and they could already have their eyes set on their top target to fill the void on the team’s coaching staff.

According to Adrian Wojnarowksi of Yahoo Sports, former Memphis Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins is a “strong candidate” to replace Kidd in Brooklyn.

There was a time when a number of teams seemed to be considering Hollins for their coaching vacancy, so it is nice to see his name surfacing once again.

At this stage in the game, many of the top head coaching candidates have already signed, so the Nets may not be able to find anyone better than Hollins to lead their team into the 2014-15 NBA season.
