With the NBA Free Agency period now officially open here on this July 1, it’s time to watch some of the dominoes fall. Make no mistake about it, in the free agency period, the ripple effects are felt all over the place, and two players that could effect the potential landing spots of one another are Chandler Parsons and Carmelo Anthony.

More from Dallas Mavericks

There’s no doubt that some teams may make a run at bringing both in, however some teams, like the Dallas Mavericks, will want one or the other.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Mark Cuban and the Mavs will first make a run at Carmelo, as has been expected, but if they can’t come to terms on an agreement, they will make Parsons their primary focus.

The Mavericks have been one of the teams leading up to the free agency period that seem to only want one star, as opposed to some of the others that want to bring in some sort of combination of prized free agents.

In the Mavericks’ case, though they want one, and they have a plan in place to get that star, whether it ends up being Parsons or Anthony.
