The Chicago Blackhawks are watching the Western Conference get more and more powerful and as a result are going out on the market to get themselves something to make sure they can keep up with the arms race. In a day in which the Minnesota Wild added Thomas Vanek and the St. Louis Blues added Paul Stastny, the Blackhawks have reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with Brad Richards.
Richards was bought out by the New York Rangers not long ago after a year of wondering why such a thing wasn’t done earlier. no matter when he was bought out by New York or for whatever reason, the Blackhawks have added a decent veteran talent to their roster and a guy who knows how to win in big markets.
He may have fizzled with the Rangers, but it was looking like Richards would land on his feet and Chicago could end up being a perfect fit for him in the end.
