Jonny Gomes takes batting practice in sweet patriotic outfit (Photo)
You’ve heard the expression of people wearing their emotions on their sleeve before, well Boston Red Sox outfielder Jonny Gomes likes to wear his patriotism on his sleeves–if he hasn’t cut them off–and he proved that during batting practice today.

World Cup fever has spread throughout the country as the USMNT has captured out hearts and attention after surviving through “The Group of Death” to advance through group play last week with a 1-1-1 record and are currently in extra time against Belgium in a riveting 0-0 game in which Tim Howard has stoned the Belgiums repeatedly through the match.
Showing his support for the Americans, Gomes donned another patriotic outfit in a similar nod to the American flag-inspired suit he wore at the White House earlier this year when the Red Sox were invited to celebrate their World Series title.
I’m not sure where you can get clothes like this, but I’d like to find out because I’d rock this look every chance I could. Especially during the World Cup as long as the Americans were alive and during the Fourth of July holiday coming up, the sleeveless look would be great for those in a hot and humid climate.
Plus, if you have some guns you can show off for the ladies while being an American hero.
I know some people may feel this is disrespectful, but I hope we can make an exception for the colorful Gomes who is only trying to show his support for his country and the USMNT during a tough match against Belgium.
