Kyle Lowry rumors: Houston Rockets out of the race after asking Raptors for sign-and-trade
By Jack Crosby
Kyle Lowry is one of the more coveted unrestricted free agents on the open market, and one of the teams that were considered front runners to land him were the Houston Rockets. The only question was, how they would acquire him. It seems as if they had a plan in place, however the Raptors didn’t seem to like it all that much and now Lowry to Houston could be dead.

According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, the Rockets’ plan was to work out a sign-and-trade agreement with the Toronto Raptors, something the latter wanted no part of. Because of that, any thoughts of seeing Lowry in Houston could now be out the window.
Lowry, also a top target of the Miami Heat, still has a shot to just stay with the Raptors. There’s no question that Toronto is one of the teams that could offer him the most money, and as we saw last season, this team is starting to become a contender.
Still, while you can understand where the Rockets were coming from with the idea, most have to know that the Raptors aren’t going to want anything to do with a sign-and-trade, especially with how much they want to have Lowry back.
If anyone other than Toronto is going to land him, they’re more than likely going to have to be the highest bidder.
