Lance and LeBron, Best Friends Forever

by Ananth Pandian (@Ananth_Pandian)

Although financially it would probably not work out, after LeBron resigns with the Heat, I want Lance Stephenson to also sign with Miami.

“Wait, Ananth what are you talking about? Lance and LeBron hate each other.

Ananth, did you forget about Lance hitting LeBron in the mouth during the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals?”

“What about Lance blowing on LeBron?”

“You couldn’t have forgotten about all of the memes, Ananth!

Also, remember when Lance wasn’t even playing and made the choke gesture to LeBron?”

I remember all of that and will never forget those classic NBA moments, just like I will never forget about Ron Artest, then with the Houston Rockets, just getting into it with Kobe Bryant back in the 2008 playoffs:

Artest was a free agent that summer and did what many thought to be unthinkable, he signed with the Lakers to play alongside his enemy Bryant. The story of why Artest signed with the Lakers is unusual, just like Ron:

"Kobe said that after the Lakers lost game six of the ’08 NBA Finals in Boston by 39 points, he was alone in the shower, just fuming. He heard somebody walk in and assumed it was one of his teammates, or maybe a staff member. Instead, he looked up, and it was Ron Artest (to this day, Kobe has no idea how Artest got into the locker room). “I want to come help you,” Artest said. “If I can, I’m going to find a way to come to LA and give you the help you need to win a title.”"

Artest was true to his word as he came through in Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals helping the Lakers to win the championship:

If Ron Artest could team up with his “enemy” Kobe Bryant and win a NBA championship, just imagine what the Miami Heat could do with LeBron playing with Lance. Not one, not two, not three…..
