NBA Free Agency 2014: LeBron James’ agent met with Rockets, Suns, Cavs, Mavs
The pressure is officially on Pat Riley.
According to Marc Stein of ESPN, LeBron James’ agent has met with representatives from the Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, and Dallas Mavericks.
This isn’t a clear indicator that James will spurn the Miami Heat and go elsewhere, but it’s a shaky sign as the organization has struck out countless times on big names since free agency began (Kyle Lowry, Marcin Gortat, etc.).

Until the Heat reload the roster, the four aforementioned offer James the chance to play with more talent, increasing his chance to win a championship. The Rockets have Dwight Howard and James Harden. The Cavaliers have Kyrie Irving, the 2014 number one overall pick in Andrew Wiggins, and an extremely bright future. The Suns have Goran Dragic, Eric Bledsoe, and the ability to add to high-level contract players. The Dallas Mavericks have the second best coach in basketball in Rick Carlisle, Tyson Chandler, and Dirk Nowitzki.
Brian Windhorst tweeted this earlier and it perfectly represents the current situation the Heat and James are in.
No one knows what will happen. Before this news, we all assumed what would happen, that being LeBron staying with the Heat as Riley retools the roster. Now everything is up in the air.
Welcome to free agency everyone.
