Dallas Mavericks Rumors: Mavs likely to re-sign Vince Carter
By Josh Hill
The Dallas Mavericks are not in the running to sign Carmelo Anthony this summer but they’re not getting down about that one bit. In fact, the Mavs pulled off a pre-draft trade that netted them Tyson Chandler to insert back into their starting lineup and they’ve gone out and made moves like re-signing Devin Harris.

The Mavs also re-signed Dirk Nowitzki meaning that they’re looking out for their own this offseason above all others and that’s a theme that is likely to continue when it comes to Shawn Marion and Vince Carter. According to Dwain Price, the Mavs want to bring both players back but are likely to only manage Carter.
Carter was clutch for Dallas in the postseason and he’s seemingly aged like a fine wine in his old age. He may not be the springboard youngster he used to be, but Vince-sanity is still hanging around, and the Mavericks like this mature version of an old and still successful product.
He could sign elsewhere, and a return to Dallas isn’t a sure thing, but Carter likes playing with the Mavericks and the fact that Mark Cuban is looking out for him will likely go a long way.
