Lance Stephenson remains a free agent despite putting up brilliant numbers for the Indiana Pacers for most of last season. But it was only most of last season that Stephenson was a help as he quickly turned into a hinder on a team that broke apart upon re-entry from the basketball stratosphere.

Stephenson went from being a potential Sixth Man of the Year winner to a meme on the internet thanks to blowing into the ear of LeBron James and things have been downhill since then when it comes to his value.
The Boston Herald reports that despite reports that state the contrary, the Celtics have not made contact with Lance Stephenson this summer.
"According to a source connected with the marketplace, they have not contacted free agent Lance Stephenson or his representative."
This isn’t to say there’s no interest coming from Boston but there has simply been no contact between the two sides this offseason. Adding Stephenson is actually a brilliant move by the Celtics as it adds some Boston swagger to the team that it lacks so bad.
It’s only a good thing though if it doesn’t clash with the laid back philosophy of Brad Stevens, which is seems like it would. Stephenson’s antics in the Eastern Conference Finals cost him some interest on the open market but we can’t count anyone out of the running just yet.
