The MLB trade deadline is quickly approaching and while we’ve already seen trades like with the Cubs and A’s swapping top talent like Addison Russell and Jeff Samardizja, there are other potential deals to be on the lookout for.

More from MLB

One team to keep an eye on are the San Francisco Giants who are not looking to make a huge trade this July but are looking for some help that someone on the market may be able to provide them.

CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman points out that the Giants could take a look at Philadelphia Phillies lead-off man Ben Revere to help them down the stretch of the season if they feel Angel Pagan isn’t close to returning.

"He might interest someone looking for a leadoff hitter and speed (possibly the Giants if it’s determined Angel Pagan won’t return from a back injury soon)."

It might be a good idea to add Revere anyways as he provides speed in the lineup and off the bench, plus having him removes the need to rush Pagan back from injury. It’s not a big splashy trade either, which is what the Giants are trying to avoid this season as the deadline nears.

Revere isn’t a highly coveted name on the market but if a team like San Francisco has a need he fills perfectly, then all of a sudden he becomes very valuable in an exclusive sort of way.
