Con: This Could Be His Last Shot

Let’s not beat around the bush: Carmelo Anthony is one of the league’s elite scorers and he is still in his prime. He just became the first player since Shaquille O’Neal in 2002 to average more 27 points and eight rebounds per game for a whole season and he was the NBA’s second leading scorer last year behind Kevin Durant. But how much longer do you think he’s got left in his prime at the age of 30?

Melo believing in the Knicks is nice and all, but New York needs to be a contender quickly before their best player’s prime is up. I still think that’s a few years away, but Phil Jackson had better have a quicker plan than Melo’s five-year contract or the Knicks’ potential title window will never have a chance to ever open.
