Pro: He Could Always Demand A Trade

The prudent thing to do here for Melo, even if he plans on leaving New York, would be to take the money and if he’s dissatisfied with the direction the Knicks are headed, he could always demand a trade. Finding a suitor for such an absurd contract could prove to be really difficult, but you have to believe someone would still be interested in Melo’s services even a few seasons down the road.

Immediate Con: …Really?

After all the Melo drama, him taking the money and choosing to demand a trade would do nothing to help his public image, would tarnish his reputation in New York and given his contract, most likely wouldn’t land him on a contender to help him win his first title. So…yeah, please don’t do this, Melo.
