The free agency of the league’s very best player, Miami Heat forward LeBron James and another elite player, New York Knicks’ forward Carmelo Anthony, have not only been the center of attention, but are completely holding up the league.

Until they sign, the rest of the game’s free agents are in a holding pattern. However, once the two do agree to deals. With James meeting with Heat president Pat Riley on Wednesday evening, a decision could be coming soon. In the case of Anthony, many believed a decision would come after he took the weekend to consider his options with Monday being a real option to make an announcement but obviously that was not the case.
On Wednesday, Frank Isola of The New York Daily News reported that Anthony was indeed going to be re-signing with the Knicks.
However, according to Anthony’s agent, Leon Rose, via Ramona Shelburne of ESPN Los Angeles, Anthony has not made a decision.

Even if nothing is official, Anthony can make nearly $130 million by staying in New York and gets a fifth year on his deal, something no other team can give him. The Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers look like the Knicks’ biggest competition but he also visited the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets.
Anthony put up 27.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game and shot 45.2% from the field, 40.2% from beyond the arc and 84.8% from the free throw line last season.
