The Cleveland Cavaliers have cleared off some cap space by trading Jarrett Jack to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday morning in order to sign LeBron James if he decides to return. That has all of northeast Ohio pretty excited about the way free agency is going.

James wouldn’t simply be content with the current roster and would likely expect further upgrades from management. The Cavaliers have been reportedly pursuing Minnesota Timberwolvs power forward Kevin Love via a trade to build their own big three of Love, James and point guard Kyrie Irving.

The Cavs reportedly have outlined trade various scenarios for James’s agent, Rich Paul, according to Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio.

"The Cavs expressed to Paul that, after their discussions with the Timberwolves, doing a deal “would not be easy,” according to one source. That source also expressed that the Cavs were reluctant to include No. 1 overall draft pick Andrew Wiggins in any potential deal."

Not being willing to give up Wiggins certainly is a cog in the plan, but it doesn’t make it totally impossible. The Timberwolves might be determined to trade Love at some point before he walks away in free agency.

While Love has no desire to re-sign with the Timberwolves, he’d re-sign with the Cavaliers if traded there and LeBron James is under contract according to ESPN.
