It looks like the NBA’s best player, LeBron James, is on the verge of making a decision about where he will be playing next season.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

He is set to choose between the Miami Heat, who has played for since 2010, or the Cleveland Cavaliers, who lost James to the Heat after drafting him with the number one overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. After initially looking like it was only a matter of time before James agreed to a deal to re-sign with the Heat, all signs are pointing to James returning to the Cavaliers. James and his agent, Rich Paul, had a meeting with Heat president Pat Riley on Wednesday in Las Vegas. Although one outlet reported James chose the Cavaliers, he reportedly left the meeting without informing Riley of any decision and won’t be making any announcement on Wednesday.

He wants to talk to his family before making a decision and will not be meeting with any other teams.

Several different prominent writers confirmed the news.

James averaged 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 56.7% from the field, 37.9% from three and 75.0% from the charity stripe last season. In his storied career, James has averaged 27.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 49.7% from the field, 34.1% from beyond the arc and 74.7% from the free throw line.
