On Saturday night, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will be taking on Erislandy Lara in a non-title junior middleweight bout. Canelo Alvarez is one of the sport’s biggest stars and a huge draw with the Mexican fan base, so many are interested to see just how much he will earn for his fight.

According to Rafael’s report, Canelo Alvarez will be earning $1.5 million for his efforts inside of the ring.
Of course, there is always the opportunity for Canelo to earn more.
Here is a full look at the purses for this weekend’s pay-per-view event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

It may be surprising to see Canelo and Lara earning close to the same amount of money, but there are other factors that will likely inflate the number for Alvarez.
As Rafael points out, Canelo will also likely earn a portion of the pay-per-view buys along with a share of the Mexico television advertising money.
