Thanks to Dan Rafael of ESPN, we now have the answer.
According to Rafael’s report, Canelo Alvarez will be earning $1.5 million for his efforts inside of the ring.
Of course, there is always the opportunity for Canelo to earn more.
Here is a full look at the purses for this weekend’s pay-per-view event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
It may be surprising to see Canelo and Lara earning close to the same amount of money, but there are other factors that will likely inflate the number for Alvarez.
As Rafael points out, Canelo will also likely earn a portion of the pay-per-view buys along with a share of the Mexico television advertising money.
When it is all said and done, Alvarez will likely turn Saturday night into a multi-million dollar pay day.
