The latest consensus in the Carmelo Anthony saga is that he will re-sign with the New York Knicks. Frank Isola of the New York Daily News even reported Wednesday that Carmelo will re-sign with the Knicks and that Anthony “believes in Phil.”
"After agonizing over a decision for the past week, Anthony is expected to announce on Thursday that he is re-signing with the Knicks, the Daily News has learned. Anthony’s agent, Leon Rose, claims that “no decision” has been reached, but a friend who was with Anthony on Wednesday in Los Angeles told the Daily News that Anthony “wants to get it done in New York.”“He will have something for everybody on Thursday,” said the friend who was with Anthony before Anthony’s scheduled workout with Kevin Durant and Kevin Love in Bel Air. “He is really torn because this is the biggest decision of his career. But he wants to get it done in New York. He told me he believes in Phil.”"
However, it appears Carmelo doesn’t believe in Phil Jackson enough to send him a text message.
Phil says he's texted Carmelo since their meeting, but hasn't gotten responses back from him.

Phil says he's expects an answer from Carmelo today, but that he also expected one yesterday and the day before that, too.

It’s certainly an interesting development. Is Melo having second thoughts about returning to the Big Apple?

There is the possibility that Carmelo is simply trying to decide how much money he wants from the Knicks, but if that were the case, why wouldn’t he simply tell Phil that?

New York still has to feel confident about landing Melo, but this is definitely strange.
