LeBron James has been dominating the NBA Free Agency landscape for sometime now and now that he has made his decision to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, eyes will begin to return out East to Carmelo Anthony and where he will now sign. The finalists seem to be the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls, who emerged last night as an 11th hour possibility.

According to NBA scribe Jared Zwerling, Melo could end up making his announcement today as well, something that would truly mark the beginning of NBA free agency as we know it. The world was waiting on LeBron and he announced on Friday morning and no matter how much or how little fanfare Melo follows that with, the free agency ball is now in his court.
A source close to Melo: Down to NY & CHI. Was some thinking early on Melo & Bron could play together but now Melo decision could come today.

While the Knicks looked like they were going to be the team that lands Melo, the Bulls seem like they’re going to somehow find a away to get him on their team. The common belief at the moment is that Melo will take the five-year max deal with the Knicks and then get traded with that contract to the Chicago Bulls.
All of that is up in the air at the moment but now that LeBron is off the market it’s up to Melo to pick a team and finally allow for the clogged free agency pipeline to get flowing once again.
