One player who wasn’t really being talked about much before LeBron’s decision and probably wasn’t holding out to see what happened was guard Kirk Hinrich. After signing with the Bulls a few years ago, Hinrich is a free agent again and drawing interest from at least two teams.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, the Charlotte Hornets have joined the Chicago Bulls in teams that are interested in signing Kirk Hinrich to a free agent contract this summer.
The Hornets are suddenly a destination as their new logo, new name and new winning attitude are all things that free agents are taking note of. That doesn’t meant Charlotte is the new Los Angeles or anything, but what it does mean is that interest in players like Hinrich show that the Hornets are interested in getting better and they have the means to make their team a contender in the East this year.
