When the game’s best player, LeBron James, opted out of his contract with the Miami Heat, many believed it was simply so the Heat could try to acquire other pieces before James and the rest of the Heat’s big three, guard Dwyane Wade and center Chris Bosh, signed new deals in order to gain better long-term career security.

However, as the days continued to go by and James and the Heat did not come to an agreement, speculation grew that a return to the Cleveland Cavaliers was a real viable option for James. In fact, earlier in the week, many different reporters began to switch their predictions from the Heat to the Cavaliers.
After the Cavaliers did not get a commitment from James on Thursday, which is when they reportedly expected him to make a decision, some of the momentum appeared to swing back in favor of the Heat.
On Friday, James officially decided to return to the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers have since been listed as the favorites to win the NBA Title and James is projected to have another monster season.
